learning and sharing and meeting new friends, as well as exploring the amazing
island of Bali with its beautiful nature, ancient culture and ever-smiling
people. Teachers at the retreat are not paid and all proceeds go to local

Siri
Ydstie
(Norway) is a professional belly dancer and instructor based in Oslo, Norway.
She runs Oslo Bellydance Studio, with
its three branches. Her style is Egyptian raqs
sharqi, having studied with the world famous Raqia Hassan of Cairo as well as
with other Egyptian stars. In addition to regular classes in her own dance
studios, Siri also teaches weekend workshops during festivals and similar events
in Norway and around the world. Siri is in charge of the Norwegian teacher
training and certification program for bellydance instructors, through the
Norwegian Dance Association. She is also a much sought after performer, doing
both private events such as weddings and birthday parties, as well as bellydance
festivals and other cultural events. Siri organizes the annual "1001
Nights" - Oslo Bellydance
Festival. She has produced one instructional bellydance DVD for beginners, and

Karolina
Idrisova (Czech Republic) is a professional bellydancer based in Prague,
where she is one of the main instructors of the Czech Republic largest
bellydance school; Centrum Tanz. Karolina has severeal placements in
international Raqs Sharqi contests, and last summer her company, the Matahari
group, won first price in the international bellydance competition in Prague.
Karolina has studied with the Cifuentes of Berlin, Lubna Emam of Egypt, to
mention a few. In addition to Egyptian style Raqs Sharqi, Karolina has also
specialized in combining bellydance with Spanish dance, and created her own
"Flamenco Orientale" fusion. Being of Indonesian descent, Karolina
also masters the art of Balinese dance. She is a much sought after instructor,

Julianna
(USA) runs her own bellydance school in Minnesota, where she teaches
throughout the year to large classes and enthusiastic students who enjoy her
unique teaching style and eagerly await her teaching video in production for the
coming year. She has a strong background from ballet, and has studied
bellydance with teachers such as Cassandra, Tamalyn Dallal, Jillina, Dina,
Bozenka and many more. She has a unique and graceful style with sharp technique
and has a knack for the creative use of dance props, including veil, sword, Isis
wings, cane, fan, boa, and zils. In 2006 she won the "People's Choice Award"
in the Belly Dancer of the Universe competition and "1st Runner-up"
in the Universal category that required skills in Turkish, Persian, and Arabic
dance. Julianna performs regularly and is a favorite at the Mediterranean Cruise
Cafe in Eagan, where she schedules and helps manage numerous dancers. She also
has her own, very succesful, dance company, "Julianna and the Blue Lotus

Tricia
Lee (Australia)
is a practicing Reflexologist, Body worker, Writer and Dancer who lives in
the forest in South West Australia. She is a member of the bellydance troupe
“Turkish Kiss”, and teaches bellydance as a spiritual practice, for
celebration and healing. She will teach her own concept class "Bellydance
for Body and Soul" which
helps cross the bridge between physical and spiritual selves, and reconnect
with the Sacred core of creative essence. She will also teach
the sacred, traditional "Dance of the Seven Veils". Tricia will be
offering private reflexology sessions (highly recommended!) while we're at
Batukaru, where they have a beautiful, purpose-built
SPA-room.

Trine
Bjarköy (Norway)
started bellydancing six years ago and teaching just a little later. Since then
she's sought inspiration from several teachers, among them Anna Barner, Siri
Ydstie, Lulu Sabongi, Shahar Badri, Carlla Sillveira, Mahmoud Reda, Raqia
Hassan, Beata and Horacio Cifuentes and several others. In addition to
bellydance, Trine also teaches salsa for beginners and intermediate level. She
is a trained physiotherapist, with particular interest in movement and how
posture affects our function/range of motion and physical and emotional
expression. She is known for her fun and inspiring classes and lectures. In
aaddition to her lecture on Posture for bellydancers, Trine will also be
