(Level = level of bellydance expertise)

Flamenco-Orientale (Karolina) - intermediate

Posture for Bellydancers (Trine) - open level. Learn how your posture affects your range of motion (ROM). Through Trine's fun and informative lecture, you will learn ways to improve your posture and thus drastically increasing your ROM and improving your dance. Lecture + exercises and demonstrations.

Balinese Dance (Karolina) - open level. Basic technique, posture and movements. Karolina, being herself part Indonesian, masters the technique of Balinese dance as well as the pedagogic skills to teach this ancient, magical dance form.

Basic technique + pop choreo with skirt (Siri) - beginner/improver level. We'll first do some basic Egyptian style technique drills, then combine it all into a fun choreography to the beautiful song "Inshallah" by pop star Latifa. The choreography includes cool moves with the skirt. Bring you own or buy or borrow at Bali Mountain Retreat. This class is also excellent for tachers who want an easy, fun choreography to teach to their beginner/improver level students back home. (Note extra time for rehearsal/filming after afternoon lecture)

Body And Soul (Tricia) - open level. Bellydance for Body and Soul has been birthed to help us cross the bridge between our physical and our spiritual selves, to help us release restrictive notions of our beautiful feminine bodies and reconnect us with the Sacred core of our creative essence. It empowers, uplifts, energises and also soothes. It opens up the energies of the body to promote well being from the inside out.

Hot shimmies (Siri) - open level. We'll practice several different types of shimmies and add steps, everything to be used in the drum solo choreography

Drum solo choreo (Siri) - Intermediate. We'll use the shimmies and stepps from the previous class and combine into a fun choreography to "Tabla Competition". Fun, fast paced and with plenty of attitude, this one is a sure winner at performances. (Note extra time for rehearsal/filming after afternoon class)

Taking Care of Your Feet (Tricia) - open level. The wonderful power of reflexology. Access a "sole to soul" connection which renews your passion for life.

Drums, zills and rhythms (Siri/Julianne) - open level (drums provided). Siri will walk us through some of the most important rhythms the oriental dancer needs to know, and demonstrate basic tabla technique. Julianne will teach basic zills. The idea is to enable everybody to join in during the evening's live drumming under the stars. Let's make some noise!

There will be a cooking class also, open both for dancers and non-dancing companions, as well as introduction to Capoeira (if sufficient number of retreat participants)
