PRELIMINARY ITINERARY 2010

 

Note that most classes are suitable for all levels, both experienced dancers and beginners are welcome. Go to schedule for more info on classes.

Sunday 28:    Arrival (make sure to inform Yani. request@balitraveling.com, about your flight details. She will pick you up at the airport. If you wish to arrive in Bali before the retreat for some extra days in Paradise, she is also the one who will help you organize your stay), check in to hotel, beautiful Pelangi Bali on Kuta Beach. Information meeting + getting to know each other. 8pm - dinner with belly dance performances at beautiful Khaima Moroccan Restaurant, www.khaimabali.com (see pictures from Khaima: http://www.bali-in-pictures.com/res6.htm)

Monday 29:    Breakfast at hotel. Belly dance classes all day. Afternoon/evening free

Tuesday 30:    Breakfast at hotel. Belly dance classes until 1pm. Pick up at hotel, half day tour to Ubud. Balinese dance performance (not included) at the Palace in Ubud at 6pm. Dinner/drinks (not included) and belly dance at Jazz Cafe afterwards. Back to Pelangi Bali late.

Wednesday 31:    Breakfast at hotel. Belly dance classes all day. Afternoon/evening free

Thursday 1:    Breakfast at hotel. Pick up at hotel, drive to Bali Mountain Retreat  on Batukaru mountain. Visit awesome Tana Loth sea temple on the way. Lunch at Tana Loht (not included) Drive through spectacular rice paddy scenery. Bring your cameras! Arrival at Batukaru, tea & snacks + info by Rebecca and Richard, our hosts. Dinner (something to look forward to, Rebecca is an awesome chef). Evening free to sleep, read, or drink wine and sing and chat with your new friends and our lovely host and hostess.

Friday 2:     9 - 10 Breakfast, half day tour to local Hindu Temple. Lunch back at the Mountain Retreat. Dance classes after lunch in the world's most beautiful dance studio. Balinese cooking class. Appr. 20:00 dinner. Rebecca's on site belly shop will be open, so you can stock up on hip scarves, skirts etc.

Saturday 3:    9 - 10 Breakfast, dance classes, lunch, more dancing. Rest/shower, dinner.  This evening some of the local drummers will join us for drumming and dancing around the bonfire under the stars. Feel free to join in with your zills, ladies. Let's make some noise!

Sunday 4:     Early breakfast. Dance class. Departure - back to Pelangi Bali. Afternoon free to shop, sunbathe or practice for your performance at Khaima Restaurant. All participants are welcome to perform, but the restaurant needs to know how many performers there will be, so please let us know asap if you wish to perform, preferably also what you will dance. This is the last night of the retreat, so make sure to exchange contact info with your new friends.

Monday 5:    Breakfast at the hotel, departure. Make sure to inform Yani about your flight details. She will take you to the airport. If you wish to stay in Bali some extra days, she is also the one who will make sure to get you a hotel room + organize activities  (how about snorkelling, elephant safari, botanical gardens with meat-eating plants, more SPA, more cooking classes, horse riding, trekking...) and transport for you, everything at very good rates request@balitraveling.com
